(a) The gravitational force F between two bodies of masses m1 and m2 is given by the equation F = Gm1m2/r2 where G is the gravitation constant (6.672 times 10-11 N m2/kg2), m1 and m2 are the masses of the bodies in kilograms, and r is the distance between the two bodies.

(b) If the separation between two particles is doubled, the gravitational force between the particles becomes half the initial force. If the separation between two particles is halved, the gravitational force between the particles becomes half the initial force.

(c) Mass is the measure of the amount of matter in a body. Mass is denoted using m or M. Weight is the measure of the amount of force acting on a mass due to the acceleration due to gravity. Weight usually is denoted by W.

Force become 4 times   if their separation becomes half

Ma ss is quantity of matter in a physical body but Weight is gravitational Force acting on a body

F = Gm₁m₂/r²

r is separation

Separation becomes half hence r'=  r/2

F' = Gm₁m₂/(r/2)²

F' = 4Gm₁m₂/r²

F' = 4F

Hence Force becomes 4 times

Ma ss:

This is Quantity of matter in a physical body.

This remains same independent of its location , position , orientation

Its SI unit is kg

Weight:

Weight is gravitational Force acting on a body

Value varies if acceleration due to gravity changes

Its SI unit is Newton N
