In 1977 there was an officer on my department who was shot in the head during an armed robbery.
He was the first officer on the scene, and as he approached the storefront the offender exited with a female hostage. The guy held a gun to her head.
My friend tried to defuse the situation, and was behind cover talking to the robber. At some point my friend decided to surrender himself for the woman. The gunman released the woman, handcuffed my friend, took his .357 magnum, and kept jabbing him in the side of the head. “Do you have a family, pig? Do you have kids, pig? You’re never going to see them again.”
This was no longer about robbing a store for drug money. It was an attempted murder.
My friend remained calm and kept trying to keep the gunman occupied while his backup units began to arrive. The gunman shot my friend in the side of his head with the .357, then turned to fire at the other officers. They returned fire, striking the gunman.
Though he should have died instantly, my friend lived another 8 years with the aftereffects of the brain trauma.
We can talk about police tactics. We can talk about never surrendering yourself.
I never met a braver person than Officer Louis F. Jogmen.

I m inspired by Dr.APJ Abdul kalam . His words r inspiring He quoted many things for example, You have to dream before your dreams can come true. Let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow. The bird is powered by its own life and by its motivation. To succeed in your mission, you must have single-minded devotion to your goal.
