A green colour box contains 4 cards numbered 1. 3.
5 and 7 respectively. Another box of red colour
contains 3 cards numbered 2, 4 and 6 respectively.
If a card is drawn at random from each bag, then
find the probability that sum of the numbers on the
card drawn is 9.​

Total arrangements

= (number of cards In box1) × (number of cards in box 2)

= 4 × 3 = 12

probability that sum of the numbers on the

card drawn is 9 = 3/12

= 1/4 = 0.25
