A green layer is gradually formed on a copper plate when left exposed to air for a week in the bathroom .what could this green colour substance be?

This green layer formed on copper's surface is corrosion which is formed by the action of air and moisture. This gren substance is Copper Carbonate (CuCO3). It is also called patina.

Copper is a reactive metal and corrodes easily. Corrosion is caused by oxidation of copper in presence of oxygen in air and moisture. Hence, green layer is developed on the surface of copper plate. This green substance is copper carbonate.
