Answer:

The green powder is FeSO4. When it is put into water,as it soluble in water,it dissolves slowly,and a solution of FeSO4 (aq) is prepared.

Ferrous Sulphate

Explanation:

  • The green colored powder is of ferrous sulfate
  • It is also known as green vitriol
  • When it is dissolved and stirred in water, ferrous sulfates from the hydrated metal complex[Fe(H_2O)_6]_2{^+}
  • This complex is almost colorless and paramagnetic in nature
  • Hence, the ferrous sulfate solution is formed

If we heat this iron(II) sulfate will firstly lose its water of hydration and the original green powdery crystals will be changed to white-colored anhydrous solid.
