A grey colour metal 'X' is used for coating iron to prevent it from rusting. 'X' when dipped in iron sulphate solutiin, the colour changes to colourless and a greyish black metal. 'Y' is formed. Identify 'X' and 'Y'. Also give reason for your answer.

When zinc is dipped in iron sulphate solution it displaces iron from the solution nd will form zinc sulphate
Zn + FeSO4 -----------> Fe + ZnSO4
it is displacement reaction
