A grocer buys x kg of potatoes at birr 1.50 per kg and y kg of onions at birr2.25 per kg.how much money does he pay in birr?

money paid for potatoes = 1.5x

money paid for oninons = 2.25y

total mony paid = 1.5x + 2.25y
