A grocer purchases some eggs at 3 for ₹ 5 and sold them at 5 for ₹ 12.thus, he gained ₹ 143 in all. How many eggs did he purchase

Let 'n' be total number of eggs.

cost price = (n/3) * 5

selling price = (n/5) * 12

selling price -cost price = profit = 143

=> (12n/5) - (5n/3) = 143

=> n = (15/11) * 143

=> n= 195
