Given :

  • S.P = Rs 55 / kg
  • Amount sold = 5 kg
  • Gain % = 10%

To find :

  • Gain / loss % at SP = Rs 52 / kg

Solution:

SP of 5 kg = SP of 1 kg × 5

= 55 × 5

= Rs 275

\boxed{\tt CP = \dfrac{100 \times SP}{100 + Gain \%}}

 = \tt  \dfrac{100  \times 275}{100 + 10}  \\  \\  =  \tt \frac{27500}{110}  \\  \\  =  \tt \: 250

Hence the Cost price of 5 kg wheat flour is 250 Rs .

New SP = 52 / Kg .

SP of 5 kg flour = 52 × 5

= Rs 260

SP > CP , therefore it is gain

Gain = SP - CP

= 260 -250

= 10

\boxed{\tt Gain \% = \dfrac{Gain \times 100}{CP}}

 = \tt  \dfrac{10 \times 100}{250}  \\  \\  =  \tt \frac{1000}{250}  \\  \\  =  \tt 4 \%

Hence the seller would have gained 4% profit if he would have sold 5 kg flour at rate of Rs 52/kg .
