A grocery store received several boxes containing 9 kg of oranges each in the morning. It also received a 15-kilogram box of oranges in the afternoon. If a total of 51 kg of oranges were delivered to the store that day, how many boxes of oranges did the store receive in the morning?
Answers
Solution :-
Let us assume that, the grocery store received x boxes of oranges in the morning.
So,
→ Weight of Oranges in 1 box = 9 kg .
then,
→ Total weight of Oranges in x boxes = Weight of Oranges in 1 box * Total box = 9 * x = 9x kg .
now,
→ Weight of oranges in box that received in afternoon = 15 kg .
therefore,
→ Total weight of oranges = Total weight of Oranges in x boxes + Weight of oranges in box that received in afternoon = (9x + 15) kg .
A/q,
→ 9x + 15 = 51
→ 9x = 51 - 15
→ 9x = 36
→ x = 4 kg (Ans.)
Hence the store received 4 boxes of oranges in the morning .
