It was found that 5 teachers spent as much as 4 engineers, 12 engineers spent as much as 9 doctors and 6 doctors spent as much as 8 salesman. If every personin a professional group spent the same amount, then find the amount spent by each engineer. Give the answer and tell how ?

25(4e/5) + 20e + 18(4e/3) + 12(e) = 1330

3) Solve for the other variables.

 

s = 17.5

 

d = 4(17.5)/3 = 70/3

 

t = 4(17.5)/5 = 14

 

4) Check your answers.

 

25(14) + 20(17.5) + 18(70/3) + 12(17.5) = 1330

350 + 350 + 420 + 210 = 1330
