Arrangements

Given:

a, b, c, d, e are the weightlifters in a competition.

Each person lifted different weight along with the conditions given below:

  • One person lifted more weight than that of e.
  • 2 persons lifted weight that is less than that of c but more than that lifted by b.
  • d is not the person who lifted the least weight.

To find:

Number of person who lifted weight less than that lifted by A.

Explanation:

Arrangement will be in descending order.

according to first point, the scenario will be,

_, e, _, _, _

according to 2nd point ,

c, _, _

_, _, b

according to 3rd point

d will not be at last position, so it can be at 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th position

2nd position is already occupied by e

d, e, c, b, a

Hence, this series, will satisfy all the given conditions (d, e, c, b, a).
