Given: Given that a group of ladies with different breeds of cats are in the park. Charlo counted 20 heads and  68 feet.

To find: Find out the number of ladies and cats are there in the park.

Solution:

Total number of cats and ladies are 20 as there 20 heads are in the park.

Let the number of ladies are x and number of cats=(20-x).

A ladies have two feet and a cat have four feet.

So, we can write-

2x+(20-x)\times4=68\\2x+80-4x=68\\-2x=-12\\2x=12\\x=\dfrac{12}{2}\\x=6

Number of ladies are 6.

Number of cats are

=(20-6)\\=12

There are 6 ladies and 12 cats in the park.
