A group of Primary 4 pupils conducted experiment to compare the
expansion of the two different liquids, X and Y. They filled one
flask with liquid X and the other flask with liquid Y. The levels
of the liquid in the glass tube were the same at the beginning.

What is the purpose of using hot water in this experiment?
