the answer is 4 as the total weight -THE WEIGHT OF THE DRY RAISINS
forget
let x be the weight of dry raisins
so
x+4 =9.2
SO x is 5.2
so the water gained is 4 grams

The water imbided by the raisins will be 4 gram.

The answer is very clear from the question itself.

The students collected 10 raisins and weighed them. After soaking them in Water they gained 4 gram more weight and the final weight came out as 9.2 gram.

From this data the initial weight of the raisins can also be calculated which will be

9.2 - 4 = 5.2 gram

So, the initial weight of the raisins with their stalks was 5.2 gram and after imbibing water their weight increased 4 grams and made th weight 9.2 grams total in weight.
