A guitar string resonates at a frequency of 500 Hz forming a standing wave

If one loop is formed it is fundamental frequency.

Since 5 loops are formed it is the fifth harmonic.

All the frequencies are in the ratio 1:2:3:....

So fundamental frequency = 500/5

=100Hz
