The amount of syrup in 45 gulab jamuns is 387.6 cm3.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the question; every gulab jamun is cylindrical in shape with 2 hemispherical ends.

The radius of the hemisphere and cylinder was 1.4 cm.

The height of the cylinder only = 5 cm – 2(1.4 cm)

      = 5- 2.8 = 2.2 cm

The volume of the cylindrical gulab jamun is the sum of the volume in the 2 hemispheres and the cylinder

Thus; volume of the gulab jamun =πr^2  h + 2 (2/3  πr^3)

                                                        = πr^2  h+4/3 πr^3

                                                          =  πr^2  (h+4/3 r)

After substituting the values;

                                                           = 3.14 ×1.4 ×1.4 (2.8+(4×1.4)/3)

                                                          = 28.7 cm3

Thus, the volume of one gulab 28.7 cm3.

The volume of 45 gulab jamuns was 45 × 28.7 = 1292 cm3.

Each gulab jamun contains 30% syrup.

Thus, 45 gulab jamuns contains 30% of their volume as syrup, i.e.,

= 0.3 × 1292

= 387.6 cm3

Hence, 45 gulab jamuns contain 387.6 cm3 of sugar syrup
