A gulab jamun, contains sugar syrup up to about 30% of its volume. Find approximately how much syrup would be found in 45 gulab jamuns, each shaped like a cylinder with two hemispherical ends, with length 5 cm and diameter 2.8 cm (see figure13.15).

Heya...

Here is your answer....

h = 5cm

therefore h of cylinder = 5-2.8=2.2

volume of gulab jamun= volume of cylinder + volume of 2 hemispheres.

volume= 3pi r. r .h + 4/3 . pi .r.r.r

=22/7x1.4x1.4(3x2.2+4x1.4)/3

=6.16(12.2)/3

=75.152/3

=25.05 cm cube.

jamuns = 45

therefore 45 gulab jamuns volume= 45x25.05=1127.28

30% syrup.

therefore volume=1127.28x30/100=338.184cm cube.

Thanks.....!!!

XD

Sorry baby 'wink'
