A gulabjamun when completely ready for eating contains sugar syrup up to about 30% of its volume. find approximately how much syrup would be found in 45 gulabjamun shaped like cylinder with two hemispherical ends, if the complete length of each of the gulabjamun is 5cm and it's diameter is 2.8cm.

Answer:

Volume of syrup in 45 gulab jamuns = 387.6 cm3

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that each gulab jamuns is shaped like a cylinder with two hemispherical ends.

Radius of cylinder and hemispherical ends = 1.4 cm

Height of cylinder = 5 cm - 1.4 cm - 1.4 cm = 2.2 cm

Volume of 1 gulab jamun = πr^2h + 2/3πr^3 + 2/3πr^3

                                         = πr^2h + 4/3πr^3

                                         =  πr^2 [ h + 4/3r]

                                         = 22/7 (1.4)^2 [2.8 + 4 x 1.4/3]

                                         = 22/7 x 14/10 x 14/10 [2.8 + 5.6/3]

                                         = 28.7 cm3

Volume of 45 gulab jamuns = 45 x 28.7 cm3 =  1292 cm3

Volume of syrup in 45 gulab jamuns =30/100 x 1292 cm3

                                                              = 387.6 cm3
