➡️A gun fires a bullet of mass 50 kg. The bullet moving with the velocity of 100metre per second strikes a sandbag and gets after travelling 10 seconds. Calculate the resistive force exerted by sand on the bullet and the taken by bullet to come to rest .

Mass of bullet (m) = 50 g = 0.050 kg 

initial velocity of bullet (u) = 100m/s

distance travelled by bullet (s) = 10 cm = 0.1 m 

We know , 

v²  - u² = 2 as 

0 - (100)² = 2 x a x 0.1

-1000 /0.1 = 2a 

-10000 = 2a 

a = - 5000 m/s²

Resistive Force = m x a 

= 0.05 x(- 5000) 

= - 250 N 

Time taken

v = u + at

0 = 100 - 5000 t 

-100 /5000 = t 

t = 0.02 seconds
