Given :

  • M = mass of gun = 30 kg

  • m = mass of bullet = 0.03 kg

  • v = velocity of bullet = 300 m/s

To find :

  • V = Velocity of gun = ??

Formula to be used :

V = - mv / M

Solution :

V = [ (- 0.003 )(300) ]/ 30

V = - 0.003 × 10

V = - 0.03

So recoil velocity of gun = - 0.03 m/s .
