GIVEN VALUES:-

»mass of shell = m1 = 1.5kg

»mass of gun = m2 = ?

»velocity of shell = V1 = 200

»velocity of gun = V2 = 1.5

»SOLUTION:- Apply conservation of momentum

= m1V1 + m2V2

both bullet and gun are at rest before firing hence total momentum will be zero.

=m1V1 + m2V2 = 0

= m1V1 = m2V2

= 1.5 X 200 = m2 X 1.5

= m2 = 200kg

ANSWER:- mass of gun = 200 kg
