A gun weighing 10kg fires a bullet of 0.03kg with a velocity of 330 m/s . with what velocity does the gun recoil?

let M and m be the masses and,

V and v be the velocities of gun and bullet

respectively

According to the law of conservation of

momentum ,


MV + mv = 0


Given that ......☑️☑️☑️☑️

M=10kg

m=0.03 kg

v=330m/s


so..✌️

10V + .03×330 =0


10V = -9.9m/s


V = -0.99m/s

M = 10 kg                           m = 0.03 kg    V=?                                  v  = 330 m/s   Using the law of momentum conservation:  MV = mv 10kg x V = 0.03 kg x 330m/s V = 9.9/10 V= 0.99 m/s
