Given :

To Find :

calculate the cost of cementing it at the rate ₹20.50 per square metre

Solution:

Length of hall = 25 m

Breadth of hall = 18 m

We are give that a path 1.5m wide is constructed around it.

So,Outer length = 25+1.5+1.5=25+3=28 m

Outer breadth = 18+1.5+1.5=21 m

Area of path = Outer area - Inner area = (28 \times 21)-(25 \times 18)=138 sq.m.

Cost of cementing 1 sq.m. = Rs.20.5

Cost of cementing 138 sq.m. = 20.5 \times 138 =Rs.2829

Hence The cost of cementing the path is Rs.2829
