Answer:

14/3 km/h

Step-by-step explanation:

time taken to cover half distance=4/7×15=60/7h

remaining time=15-15x4/7

=15(1-1/7)

=15(7-1/7)

=15×6/7

=90/7

speed needed = half distance/time

=60×7/90

=2×7/3

= 14/3 km/ h

Answer:  The correct answer is 28/3 km/h when a handcart has to cover a distance of 120 km in 15 hours and If it covers half the distance in 4/7th of the time.

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance covered by cart= 120 km

Time taken to cover the given distance=15 hours

Time taken to cover half distance=4/7th of the given time= 4/7×15=60/7h

Remaining time=  15- \frac{60}{7}

=  \frac{105-60}{7}

=\frac{45}{7}

=45/7h

After covering half of distance in 4/7 th of time we are remained with the half distance = 120/2= 60 km

Speed required to cover the remaining journey in scheduled time= Remaining distance/time

=60÷45/7

=60x7/45

= 28/3 km/ h

Hence, 28/3 km/h speed is required to maintain to cover the remaining journey in the scheduled time.
