a heap of rice is in the form of a cone of diameter 12m and height 8m .find its total surface area​

We have given that :

Diameter to the base of a cone is = 12 m

and

Height of the cone = 8 m

We have to find :

Volume of cone = ?

Solution :

According to the given :

Diameter of the base = 12 m

= Radius of base = 12/2 = 6 m

We know that volumeof cone is = 1/3 ✖ π ✖ r ^2 ✖ h.

= 1 / 3 ✖ 22/7 ✖ 6 ^ 2 ✖ 8

= 36 / 22 ✖ 8 / 21

= 6336 / 21

= 301.71 m ^ 3 ↩↩↩↩ Answer ....

⇒Here ,D = 12m So,r =

 \frac{12}{2}

= 6m and h = 8 m

⇒Required volume

 =  \frac{1}{3}  \times  \pi \:  {r}^{2} h

 =  \frac{1}{3} \times  \frac{22}{7} \times 6 \times 6 \times 8 \\  = 301.71  \: {m}^{2}

⇒Let 1 be the slant height of cone

∴1² = r² + h²

∴1² = (6)² + (8)²

∴1² = 36 + 64

∴1² = 100

∴1 = 10 m

⇒To cover a heap we need curve surface area of cone.

⇒Curve surface area

\pi \: rl

 =  \frac{22}{7} \times 6 \times 10 \\  = 188.57 {m}^{2}

⇒Required volume is 301.71m² and Canvas cloth required to cover heap is 188.57m²
