Answer:

Volume = 301.44 m^3

Area of canvas cloth = 188.4 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of the heap is the volume of the cone.

Volume of a cone = ( 1 / 3 ) × π × r^2 × h

Given:

π = 3.14

r = 12 / 2 = 6 m

h = 8 m

Volume :

( 1 / 3 ) × 3.14 × 6^2 × 8

= ( 1 / 3 ) × 3.14 × 36 × 8

= 301.44 m^3

The area of the canvas cloth will be equal to the LSA of the conical heap.

TSA of a cone = π × r × l

Given :

π = 3.14

r = 12 / 2 = 6 m

l = √ ( r^2 + h^2 ) = √ ( 6^2 + 8^2 )

= √ ( 36 + 64 ) = √ 100 = 10 m

Thus, area of canvas cloth:

3.14 × 6 × 10 = 188.4 m^2

akash1103: you made a mistake, TSA of cone is πr(r+l)
atharvvtiwari: Oh no.. The formula is correct.. I wrote TSA instead of LSA the second time..
atharvvtiwari: Apologies for the error :-(
akash1103: ok
