Answer:

401.92 m³

251.20 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given----> Diameter of cone is 16m and height 6m

To find-----> Volume of conical heap and how much canvas is required to cover the heap.

Solution-----> ATQ,

Diameter of cone = 16 m

=> Radius of cone = 8m

Height of cone = 6 m

Volume of heap of rice = ( 1 / 3 ) π r² h

= ( 1 / 3 ) × 3.14 × ( 8 )² × 6

= ( 1 / 3 ) × 3.14 × 64 × 6

= 3.14 × 64 × 2

= 3.14 × 128

= 401.92 m³

We know that ,

l² = r² + h²

=> l² = ( 8 )² + ( 6 )²

= 64 + 36

= 100

=> l² = ( 10 )²

=> l = 10

We know that area of canvas required to cover the heap is equal to the curved srface area of heap

Area of canvas = Curved surface area of heap

= π r l

= ( 3.14 ) × ( 8 ) × ( 10 )

= 80 × 3.14

= 251.20 m²
