Given:-

  • Diameter of cylindrical heat box = 12cm

  • Height of the cylindrical heat box = 11cm

To Find:-

  • Paper needed to cover the box

Formula Used:-

  • {\boxed{\bf{TSA\:of\: Cylinder=2 \pi r(h+r)}}}

  • {\boxed{\bf{Radius= \dfrac{Diameter}{2}}}}

Solution:-

Firstly,

\sf :\implies\:Radius= \dfrac{Diameter}{2}

\sf :\implies\:Radius= \dfrac{12}{2}\:cm

\bf :\implies\:Radius= 6\:cm

Now,

\sf :\implies\:TSA\:of\: box=2 \pi r(h+r)

\sf :\implies\:TSA\:of\: box= 2\times \dfrac{22}{7}\times 6(11+6)

\sf :\implies\:TSA\:of\: box= 2\times \dfrac{22}{7}\times 6 \times 17

\bf :\implies\:TSA\:of\: box= \dfrac{4488}{7}\:cm^2

or,

\bf :\implies\:TSA\:of\: box= 641.14\:cm^2

Hence, 4,488/7cm² or 641.14cm² paper is needed to cover the box.

Given :- A heat box is in a shape of cylinder that has a diameter of 12cm and a height of 11cm .

To Find :- How much paper is needed to cover the box ?

Answer :-

we know that,

  • curved surface area of cylinder = 2 * π * radius * height .
  • Radius = Diameter / 2 .

so,

→ Area of the paper required = curved surface area of the cylinder .

from given data we have,

  • Height of cylinder = 11 cm .
  • Radius of cylinder = Diameter / 2 = 12/2 = 6 cm .

so,

→ Area of the paper required = 2 * π * radius * height

→ Area of the paper required = 2 * 3.14 * 6 * 11

→ Area of the paper required = 3.14 * 132

→ Area of the paper required = 414.48 cm² (Ans.)
