If one body moving with some velocity and  undergoes an elastic collision with the other body which is at rest then the body which have some velocity will keep on moving with the same velocity and the other body which is rest initially will move with the double velocity of the first body.

We have assumed that Mass of First body is M₁ and mass of the Other body is M₂.

M1 is much muchh greater than M2. Therefore, The mass of the Other body should be neglected as compare to the other body.

The Mathematical Proof is shown in the attachment. Follow this for more information.

From the derivation, It is conduced that the Velocity of the First ody will be 20 m/s. bu that of the second body will be 40 m/s.

Hope it helps.

V1 =2v2

So answer will be 40 m/s
