g=9.8m/s²

v²-u²=2as

v²=2as+u²

=(2×9.8×12)+0²

=24×9.8

v² =235.2

v=root of 235.2

v =15.33m/s

therefore the velocity of the object before it touches the ground = 15.33m/s
