A helicopter blade spins at exactly 1/4 revolution in 1/2 s. Its tip is 5.00 m from the center of rotation. Calculate the average speed and average velocity of the blade tip in 1/2 s with respect to the ground (in ms–1)

Answer:

A) Average speed = Distance travelled / time elapsed

Distance travelled = 5 × 2 × 3.142 (2πr) = 31.42

Time elapsed = 0.5s

Revolution = 0.25

CALCULATIONS :

(31. 42 /0.5) × 0.25 =15.71 m/s

B.) in 2 seconds

Revolution will be :

0.25 -—> 0.5 s

? —> 2s

(2/0.5) × 0.25 = 1

It makes 1 revolution.

At 0 displacement V = 0
