Given, s = 500m; u = 0 m/s; a = 9.8 m/s^2

Then, 500m = 1/2 × 9.8 × t^2

or, 500m = 4.9 × t^2

or, 5000/ 49 = t^2

or, t^2 = 100 s (approx.)

or, t = 10 s

Thus, the time required will be approximately 10 s.

HOPE THIS COULD HELP !!!

height = 500m

initial velocity :0

acceleration = gravitation = 10 for simplification purpose

freely falling body formula:

h=1/2 gt(t)

500 = 1/2(10)(t)(t)

500/5= t( t)

100= t squared

10=t

so time taken by helecopter is 10s.
