A helium balloon containing 12m³ of gas at a pressure of 120kPa is released into the air. Assuming that the temperature is constant, calculate the volume the balloon would have when the pressure inside the balloon has fallen to 40kPa. Answer in m³

Case I :                                  Case II :

V1 = 12m^3                            V2 = ?

P1 = 120k  Pa                         P2 = 40k Pa

T1 = T (say)                             T2 = T            (Since, the temp. is constant)

We know ,

\frac{P1V1}{T1} =  \frac{P2V2}{T2}

putting all the values we get,

V2   =  36 m^3  ans.
