A hemisphere of maximum possible diameter is placed over a cuboidal block of side 7cm . Find the surface area of the solid so formed.

diameter of hemisphere = √49+49 = √98 = 7√2

SO radius = 7/√2

surface area of hemisphere= 2pie 49/2 = 49 pie
surface area of cuboid = 6 (7)^2 = 294

so surface area = 294+49 =343
