A hemispherical bowl is made of steel 0.5 cm thick. The inner radius of the bowl is 4 cm. Find the volume of steel used in making the bowl.

║⊕ANSWER⊕║

Given

Thickness = 0.5 cm

Inner radius = 4 cm

So,

The volume of the inner hollow space is = (2/3)π(4)³

                                                                      = (2/3)×(22/7)× 64

                                                                      = 134.09 cm³

The radius with included metal is = (4+0.5)

                                                          = 4.5 cm

The volume with included metal = (2/3)π(4.5)³

                                                        = (2/3)×(22/7)×(91.125)

                                                         = 190.92 cm³

So,the volume of the metal = (190.92-134.09) cm³

                                                = 56.83 cm³ (approx.)
