Heterozygous means two different alleles.

Let tall plant be = TS.

Let short plant be = SS.

Here, T is dominant, S is recessive

Now, draw the punnet square.

\quad T  \ \quad S \\S \boxed{\sf{\purple{TS}}}\boxed{\sf{\green{SS}}}\\S \boxed{\sf{\purple{TS}}}\boxed{\sf{\green{SS}}}

It is so clear that half of the plants are tall and half of the plants are tall.

  • Phenotype is a way to describe the traits you can see. So, Ratio of Tallness to shortness is 1 : 2.
  • Genotype is the genetical traits. So, Ratio = 1 : 2 again.
