Answer :

  • The distance between the two stations = 360km

Given :

  • A high speed train travels at a speed of 200 km/h
  • If the train sets off from station A at 12 : 24 hours and reaches station B to 14 : 12 hours

To find :

  • Distance between the two stations

Solution :

Given that, A high speed train travels at a speed of 200km/hr so,

  • Speed = 200 km/hr

The train sets off from the station A at 12 : 24 hours and reaches station B at 14 : 12 hours so,

  • Total time travelled = 12 : 24 to 13 : 24 + 13 : 24 to 14 : 12

Finding the total time travelled

➨ Total time travelled = 12 : 24 to 13 : 24 + 13 : 24 to 14 : 12

Here,

  • 12 : 24 to 13 : 24 = 1 hour
  • 13 : 24 to 14 : 12 = 0.8 hour

➨ Total time travelled = 1 hour + 0.8 hours

➨ Total time travelled = 1.8 hour

Total time travelled = 1.8 hours

Now finding the distance between the two station :

We know that

  • Distance = Speed/Time

➨ Distance = 200/1.8

➨ Distance = 360km

Hence , The distance between the two stations = 360km
