A hollow cylinder whose internal diameter is 20 cm is closed at one end and is partially filled witb water. By how much does the level of water in the cylinder rise when a cube, each edge of which measures 11cm is completely immersed in it​

The volume of water displaced will be equal to the volume of the cube immersed. Let the water level rise by height h. So,

[math]24*21*11 cm^3 = \pi*42 cm*42 cm*h[/math]

=> [math] h = \dfrac{24*21*11}{\pi*42*42} cm[/math]

=> [math] h = 1 cm[/math]

The water level will rise by 1 cm.
