PIPE:

outerSA=2πRh=2xπx2.4 x 63 =302.4πcm2

Inner SA= 2πrh=2πx2x63=252πcm2

2 Base areas=2π(R+ r)(R-r)

= 2π(2.4+2) (2.4-2) = 2πx4.4xo.4

= 8.8πx04=3.52πcm2

TSA = 302.4π +252π +3.52π

=557,92π = 1752cm2

The total surface area of the pipe is 1753.46\ cm^2 .

Explanation:

As per given ,

Dimensions of a hollow pipe are :

Length h= 63 cm

Inner diameter of cross section =  4 cm

i.e. inner radius r= 2  cm   (radius is half of diameter)

Outer diameter = 4.8 cm

Outer radius R= 2.4 cm.

Formula for the total surface area of the pipe = Curved surface area of inner surface area + Curved surface area of outer surface area + Area of both circular ends

=2\pi Rh+2\pi rh+2\pi (R^2-r^2)\\\\=2(\dfrac{22}{7}) (2.4)(63)+2(\dfrac{22}{7}) (2)(63)+2(\dfrac{22}{7}) ((2.4)^2-(2)^2)\\\\=950.4+792+11.06\\\\=1753.46\ cm^2

Hence, the total surface area of the pipe is 1753.46\ cm^2 .
