A horizontal force ,just sufficient to move a body of mass 4 kg lying on a rough horizontal surface is applied on it,the cofficients of static and kinetic friction b/w the body and surface are 0.8 and 0.6. If the force continues to acr even after the block has started moving than. Find the acceleration of the block.

Let the kinetic coefficient of friction = k

Static friction coefficient = s

In our case :

k = 0.6

s = 0.8

Take g = 10

The formula for getting acceleration is :

a = (s - k) × 10

Doing the substitution we have:

(0.8 - 0.6) × 10 = 0.2 × 10 = 2

= 2 m/s²
