If a is the acceleration of the system,

F = (10 + 20)a = 500N

a = 50/3 m/s²

a. Force applied on 20kg mass.

T = 10a = (10×50)/3 = 500/3 N

b. Force applied on 10kg mass.

T = 20a = (20×50)/3 = 1000/3 N
