Pressure is inversely proportional to the area of cross- section. That is, when the araa of cross-section becomes half, the pressure doubles. Thus in the above mentions case, due to the decrease in the diameter of the pipe, the pressure of the fluid will increase, and as a result, the velocity will also increase.
