A horse is tied by a rope to one corner of a rectangular field of measure 16 by 32 metre, the length of the rope is 21 metre, how much area of the field will the house be able to graze, and also find the area of the remaining field .

Length of rectangle,l=16 m

Breadth of rectangle ,b=32 m

Length of rope=21 m

Area of rectangle =l x b=16 x 32=512 m²

Area of the quadrant =1/4πr²  (∵r=21)

                                   =1/4 x 22/7 x(21)² m²

                                   =346.5 m²

∴ Area of the remaining field =area of rectangle - area of the quadrant

                                                 =512-346.5

                                                 =165.5 m²
