(2) Displacement = 2.828km

(1) Distance:

3/4 of the circle,

Distance = 3/4(2πr)

= 3/2(3.14)(2)

= 9.42km

(2) Displacement:

by Pythagoras theorem,

r² + r² = 2²+2² = 4+4 = 8km displacement = √8 = 2(1.414)

= 2.828km
