A hot air balloon is at an altitude of 240 feet. The balloon descends 30 feet per minute. What equation gives the altitude y, in feet of the hot air balloon after x minutes? Explain your answer.

Since the altitude started at 240 ft then that will be the constant, and, since it descends 30 ft/min, then 30 will be your slope.

 \longrightarrow \pmb{y=30x+240}
