Given:

Acceleration,a = 1 m/s²

Time taken,t = 10 sec

initial velocity, u = 0

To be calculated:

Calculate the maximum height reached by ball ?

Formula used:

  • v = u + at

  • h = v² / 2g

Solution:

According to the first equation of motion,

v = u + at

= 0 + 1 × 10

= 0 + 10

= 10 m/s

Now,

Height, h = v² / 2g

= ( 10 )² / 2 × 9.8

= 100 / 2 × 9.8

= 100 × 10 / 2 × 98

= 1000 / 196

= 5.10 m ( approx)

Thus, the maximum height is 5.10 m .
