A hot body and a cold body are kept in vacuum separated from each other. What is the reason for the
decrease in temperature of the hot body?

I believe it is due to radiation. The heat travels in three forms: radiation, conduction and convection. As the two bodies are kept in vacuum and without contact, conduction and convection are not possible. So, the heat has travelled from one body to the other in the form of radiation.
