The heat is transferred in an iron rod if one end of it is heated. When heated at one end of the rod then the atoms there vibrate more than the atom present at the cold end.
The vibration gets transferred from one end to other end through the atoms. The transferred of heat through the vibration of the rod is called the conduction.
