Answer:

220=V

resistance of a =resistance of b =22ohm

1/r=1/resistance of a +1/resistance of b

when the connection is in parallel

1/r=1/22+1/22

1/r= 2/22

therefore r =11

I=v/r

I=220/11

I =20

when connection is in series

equivalent resistance in series is equal to some of individual resistance

r=22+22=44

I =v/r

I =220/44

I =5

Explanation:

the reciprocal of equivalent resistance in parallel is equal to sum of reciprocals of individual resistances
